“Mind the gap!”

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.” ~ J.M. Barrie

Its hard to describe our visit to London in a few words. We had some ups and down, but the experience was unforgettable. London had been on our 'must visit' list for a long time, and somehow out of the blue we started saving money. London has easily been our most expensive trip, but somehow it was totally worth it!

The first day we had to wake up at half past 4 in the morning. After a long travel with the Eurostar (with no troubles yet!), we arrived at 10 o' clock. Of course our first day was discovering Westminster. London Eye, Westminster abbey, St James Park and Big Ben (under construction unfortunately) were one of the many monuments we passed on our first route. 'Time to Momo' was the guidebook we followed. It was helpful, but could use an update (or a bigger scaled map at least).  After our last stop, we went to our Apartment, Hyde Park Exclusive Apartments, which I don't  even want to talk about! High tea at Fortnum and Mason, was amazing, even though we had to leave fast because they were going to close. I think they need to change the reservation option on the internet, because it was unfortunate we had to leave so fast. The atmosphere there was amazing, the staff very helpful and the food delicious, even though some pastries were very special. The sandwiches were definitely our favorites. We luckily could take some with us and enjoyed the delicacies the day after. That pretty much sums up our first day in London.

Have you ever been to London? What did you like or what disappointed you?

I have never been to London, but I am loving looking at the wonderful photos you took there. I love the photos of the architecture, of the scenes at the parks, at the waterfront, of that amazing oriental rug on the multiple stair landing, and of you by the telephone booth and looking at the artwork.
